Privacy Policy

The short version

txtkit is a static website. Your text never leaves your browser. We do not have a server that processes your input, we do not collect personal information, and we do not run analytics. The only data stored anywhere is saved to your own browser's localStorage — and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data.

We do display ads via Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve personalised ads. That's explained in detail below.

Data we collect

None — from our side. This site has no backend, no database, and no user accounts. When you paste text into a tool, it is processed entirely within your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is transmitted to any server.

The site does save a small amount of data to your browser's localStorage so your workspace persists between visits. This data never leaves your device. The keys saved are:

• txtkit_writing_text — textarea content for the Writing tab
• txtkit_writing_activeTool — last active tool in the Writing tab
• txtkit_editing_text — textarea content for the Editing tab
• txtkit_editing_activeTool — last active tool in the Editing tab
• txtkit_dev_text — textarea content for the Developer tab
• txtkit_dev_activeTool — last active tool in the Developer tab
• txtkit_reading_wpm — your reading speed preference
• txtkit_speaking_wpm — your speaking speed preference
• theme — your light/dark mode preference

You can clear all of this by clearing your browser's site data for txtkit.pages.dev (or your browser's localStorage settings). None of this data is accessible to us.

Cookies

We set no cookies ourselves. The site uses localStorage (not cookies) for the preferences listed above.

However, Google AdSense — our ad provider — may set cookies on your device to serve personalised advertisements. These cookies are set by Google, not by us, and are governed by Google's own privacy policy.

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on this site. Google AdSense uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add new tools or change our ad provider. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We recommend checking back periodically if you have questions about how your data is handled.
